A Worthy Mirror Album Release
Thursday, November 5, 2026 from 7:00-10:00 pm // Urbane Arts Club // Brooklyn, NYC
800 years. 8 composers. One very long game of telephone.
Join Alkemie at a historic Brooklyn speakeasy to celebrate the release of A Worthy Mirror, our new album of Medieval poetry and contemporary music.
Eight centuries ago, women poet-composers known as trobairitz wrote about love, lust, longing, and everything in between. Alkemie and cellist Amanda Gookin perform music from their 13th-century world alongside new compositions by eight female and non-binary composers in a spirited conversation where Medieval voices meet contemporary imaginations, and everyone gets a chance to talk back.
This concert will be preceded by a specially-prepared cocktail hour.
